Reefs

We took a trip out to “Spankey’s” and Capt. Pete’s Reef yesterday. What an amazing afternoon of diving! Great visibility and tons of life. 7 nurse sharks on Pete’s and some beautiful life at “Spankey’s”. The grunts were so heavy at Pete’s you could barely see parts of the reefs. Congratulations to Joe B. from Canada on earning his PADI Open Water certification.

A Great Weekend with Divers Supply!

We had a wonderful past weekend with a group of divers from Divers Supply  in Jacksonville, FL.  The weather was beautiful and the diving was nothing other than fun!  Thank you to everyone for coming down and joining us!

Horse collars and really cool wetsuits!

A customer came by our shop the other day to share some great pictures. Thank you David Laporte from Clinton Township, Michigan for stoping by and sharing. Tom and Pam Timmerman certified David as a PADI Open Water Diver back in 1982, the year before Florida Keys Dive Center opened. Does anyone remember the name of the shop they were with that year? Check out Tom’s Beard!

Coral Spawn in Key Largo

2010 Coral Spawn

Coral spawn of 2oo9.  Florida Keys Dive center is planning to do another week of diving this year to try and catch the coral spawn again off Key Largo.  They will be doing night dives starting on August 26 for 4 nights and hopefully catch the coral spawn again this year.
